Who I Support
I support individuals navigating a change in their relationship with sport, movement, or health. Whether you're a youth athlete, a woman managing health challenges, or someone rebuilding confidence after time away from sport and or exercise.
Sport & Exercise Psychology Services
Workshops & Panels
I offer workshops and speaking sessions for sports clubs, schools, and organisations that want to better support the psychological wellbeing of athletes. These sessions focus on topics such as confidence in sport, injury and recovery, youth athlete development, and creating healthier, more supportive sporting environments.
Individual Psychological Support
In these one-to-one sessions, I support athletes and individuals navigating confidence challenges, injury recovery, performance pressure, or changes in their relationship with sport and exercise. Together, we focus on rebuilding confidence and developing a healthier, more sustainable relationship with movement.
My Approach
-
Support begins with feeling understood. I create a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore performance, pressure, identity, and health without feeling evaluated.
-
We draw on established sport and exercise psychology frameworks to build strategies you can apply in training, competition, and everyday life tailored to your goals and context.
-
Performance does not exist separately from the body. Stress, confidence, injury, and health experiences all influence how you move and compete. I take a whole-person approach that recognizes how psychological and physical experiences interact.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
A sport and exercise psychologist helps athletes and active individuals understand the psychological side of sport, movement, and performance. I support clients who are navigating challenges such as confidence in sport, injury recovery, pressure to perform, or changes in their relationship with exercise. The goal is to help you rebuild trust in your body and develop a healthier, more sustainable relationship with sport and movement.
-
Working with a sport psychologist isn’t only for elite athletes. I support youth athletes, adults, and active individuals who may be struggling with confidence, returning to sport after injury, navigating pressure in competitive environments, or rebuilding their relationship with movement. If sport or exercise has become stressful, confusing, or disconnected from how you want to feel, psychological support can help.
-
Sport psychology helps athletes, teams, and individuals develop mental skills, improve performance, and support wellbeing. It’s not just for elite athletes anyone can benefit from building a stronger mindset.
-
Not at all. While much of our work is with athletes and teams, we also support individuals who want to improve wellbeing, resilience, or confidence in other areas of life such as exercise.
-
Sessions can take place online via video call, in person, over the phone, or at agreed venues depending on the program. We understand that travel can sometimes be challenging, so we generally recommend starting with online sessions for flexibility and accessibility.
-
Individual sessions usually last 40-50 minutes. Team workshops can vary depending on the programme (e.g., 60–90 minutes).

Yes. All sessions are confidential and follow professional ethical guidelines. If working with young people under 18, safeguarding protocols apply. In rare situations where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, I may have a professional duty to share relevant information to ensure safety.
-
Yes. Returning to sport after injury is often just as much psychological as it is physical. Many athletes experience fear, hesitation, or loss of confidence during recovery. I support clients in rebuilding confidence, managing uncertainty, and returning to sport or exercise in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

The initial consultation is a space for us to understand your goals, current challenges, and what you’re looking to get out of support. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and see if working together feels like the right fit. From there, we can outline the next steps in a way that feels clear and manageable.
-
This varies depending on your goals and individual circumstances. We will discuss this together during the initial consultation and outline a plan that feels right for you.
You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Whether you're rebuilding confidence after injury, feeling pressure within your sport, or reconnecting with movement after time away, support can help you move forward with greater clarity and trust in your body.
“When working with Stephanie I felt heard and supported from the very first session. The strategies I learned have helped me perform with more confidence.”
